The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency explained it's alarmed about the substantial quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often as a SRD result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support place created for intervention encounters a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra means to help the servicing of all prospects and increase entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
